How to add fonts to Adobe Illustrator

2 methods: In Windows On Mac

1
In Windows
1
Close Illustrator if it is open. You will not be able to find the newly installed fonts in Illustrator if you install them while you have Illustrator open.
2
If necessary, download sources to install. If you have not downloaded any source you want to install, find and download them before continuing. [1]
The sources for the Illustrator must be complete, which means that they must include bold, italic, underlined templates as well as the complete alphabet in uppercase and lowercase.
You can download the fonts in OTF, TFF, PFP and TTF formats.
3
Open Home Image titled Windowsstart.png. Click on the Windows logo in the lower left corner of the screen.
4
Open File Explorer Image titled Windowsstartexplorer.png. Click on the folder icon in the lower left part of the Start window.
5
Go to the ZIP folder of the source. Click on the folder where the ZIP folder of the font you downloaded (for example, Downloads) is located in the left column of the File Explorer window.
You will probably have to open more folders in the main window to find the ZIP folder itself.
6
Click on the ZIP folder of the source. This will select the folder.
7
Click on the Extract tab. This tab is at the top of the File Explorer window. This will bring up a toolbar below the Extract tab.
8
Click on Extract everything. It is to the right of the toolbar.
9
Click on Extract when it appears. The folder will start extracting into a normal folder.
10
Wait until the source finishes being extracted. When finished, the source folder should be opened, which means that you will be able to interact with the source file.
eleven
Double-click on the source file. This will open a window with the preview of the source.
12
Click Install. It is located at the top of the preview window. This will install the selected font for any application that uses fonts on your computer, including Illustrator.
If there are separate sources for the version in italic, bold, etc., you need to double click on each one and install them to work in Illustrator.
