What is Microsoft Visio?





Microsoft Visio (or often called Visio) is a computer application program that is often used to create diagrams, flowcharts, brainstorms, and network schemes released by Microsoft Corporation. This app uses vector graphics to create diagrams.
The original Visio was not made by Microsoft Corporation, but made by Visio Corporation, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2000. Versions that have used the name Microsoft Visio are Visio 2002, Visio 2003, and Visio 2007 which is the latest version. Visio 2007 Standard and Professional offers the same user interface, but the Professional series offers more template options for further diagramming as well as layout. In addition, the Professional edition also allows users to connect their artificial diagrams to multiple data sources and also display information visually using graphics.

The information system consists of two interrelated words namely the system and information. System is a set of elements that are combined with each other to achieve common goals. While information is data that has been processed into a knowledge. In other words, information systems are systems within the organization that bring together daily transaction processing, support operations, managerial and strategic activities of an organization, and provide reports required by certain parties. In summary, the information system consists of three basic components namely input (input), processing and output (output).

One of the tools in the process of planning this information system is Microsoft Visio which is currently circulating the latest version of Microsoft Visio 2003 is more beautiful and reliable in comparison with previous versions.

This paper is made by looking at some existing model applications on Microsoft Visio that can be used by designers, students and general public to be able to help pattern information system planning towards the better.
Run Microsoft Visio
Microsoft Visio is an application used to design a model of planning, this model is used for the needs of developers and engineering that is designed for various needs. As for Microsoft visio enable is as follows:
Click the start menu in windows
Highlight the mouse cursor in the program
Select the Microsoft Visio shortcut menu

Menu Functions On Microsoft Visio
In Microsoft Visio there are several options menu from file menu, edit, view, insert, format, tools, shape, windows and help. These menus have similarities with other applications made by Microsoft, with some of them special menus designed for Visio itself.
File menu is similar to the menu format in other Microsoft design programs, which consists of sub menu New, Open, Close, Save, Save as .., Save as Web Page ... .., search ..., Stencil, Find Shape, Page Setup, Print Preview, Print, Send to .., and Exit.
As for the new submenu there is an arrow that shows the sub menu of the new containing the menus that can be selected in accordance with the category of image design that we want. The options can also be done through the taskpane bar, as seen as follows:
For new menu selections by selecting choose drawing type will display a selection of images with animated view based on the desired category as shown below:

the new drawing option can also be selected by clicking on the new icon on the toolbar menu.
To set the page in visio can be clicked the page setup on the file menu, so it will appear page setup form which contains the control tab consisting of print setup, page size, drawing scale, page properties and layout routing.

In the print control tab setup there is a size of the page to be used, to change the paper size to be used choose the down arrow button on the available combo box paper size. The choice of paper orientation is used to determine the choice of printed form that will be used in the form of portrait or landscape.
If you want to create paper types of different sizes from existing paper forms, highlight the paper size control tab and select custom size on the paper size menu.
The draw-draw scale tab is used to determine the scale of the image we will create with the default no scale option (if the scale is 1: 1). For other options we can set on the pre-defined scale option with the options that can be used are: scale metrics, architectural scale, scale enginnering scale, and mechanical scale with a scale of 1: 1000 to 50: 1.
The tab control page properties are used to define the type of visio page that we create, whether it functions as a foreground page or as a background page. In the latest version of this vision is introduced tab control shadows that serves to give a shadow effect on the visio page.
In the view menu there are several sub menu options that can be selected such as the use of ruler (ruler) which, if selected so that the mark appears on the menu will bring a ruler on the above drawing, as shown in the following picture

Create New Drawing with Template Help
To create a new image with the help of a template created by:
1. On the file menu choose new and click the down arrow
2. Select choose drawing type and click the mouse, so the screen will appear

3. In the taskpane category on the left of the screen select organization chart, and in the template click the image organization chart in the taskpane template as shown in the picture below:
